The Society of Honor: Youth is spent studying, gathering information and forming a foundation for the beginning of some undefined future. The middle years are the doing, ideally creating some value on this chunk of rock whose meaning is the sum of all the contributions and, yes, the destructions of mankind. The later years are spent trying to put some order into the chaos one has just passed through, and extracting wisdom from it. Like a billion oracles shouting at once, we try to pass this wisdom onto a stubborn youth relentlessly determined to do it independently. Blogging merely increases the odds we will find someone interested in listening. The Society of Honor means two things. One, we are in it together. Two, we ought to strive for a high path, one of compassion, humor, intelligence and kindness as we seek life's many enrichments in ways that affect others.
